Description
This is an image taken on the roof of The Convent of San Felipe de Neri in Sucre , Bolivia , which was built in the seventeenth century . It is the ostentatious expression of the power of the Catholic Church in the flourishing American Society. From its terraces, amidst domes with tiled roofs colonial style and its towers and steeples built with silver mines of Potosi , you can see the stunning panorama of the city of numerous churches, built one on almost every block during the colony .The show is enhanced with the roofs of colonial houses, all with tile ceramic red and carved wooden balconies where clusters of red flowers hang down over the narrow cobbled streets of the city. The coming thunderstorm makes a more saturated and dramatic statement.

Thank you very much Barbie for the nice comment and for the feature in the 200 Club. I had to take a lot of pictures to get a couple with lightening - it was difficult - but persistence pays!

Beautiful image, Venetia! And not just the church has my first name (smiles). The numerous white spires, small and large, rising through the rolling horizon line and into the storm darkened sky, is very dramatic. The distant lightening bolt is a great touch!
Venetia Featherstone-Witty replied:
Thank you very much Felipe for your wonderful critique and glowing praise - we did get lucky with the storm!
